Moldova Projects
We are constantly identifying new ways to have a positive impact on Moldovan communities, and our team loves problem solving and creating programs to affect positive change. This page will be dedicated to projects we are working to get off the ground that will push forward the vision God has for AgConnect and the Moldovan people.
Agriculture Education
We recognize that agriculture education at an early age is important. Currently there are NO ag education programs in the public school system of Moldova. We are in the initial stages of developing the first 4H-style education afterschool program in the town of Maximovoca near our headquarters house. We are searching for the perfect curriculum for such a program adapting to 6th through 9th grades. The beginning target date is fall of the 2025-2026 school year.
Project 2026
We are also looking into the possibility of modifying and then implementing “Project 2026.” Originally, Project 2026 was Les’ vision of starting a dairy farm in Moldova in the year 2026. However, with the serious decline of the dairy industry in Moldova, we are adapting the initial program vision to fit the current needs of farmers. Goat dairies are becoming more common, so we are considering starting a goat dairy and cheesemaking facility. This would be a training farm where interns and students can come to learn goat farm management.
