Supporting Healthy Dairy Farms
AgConnect continues to work with small dairy farms, in both Moldova and Kenya, providing the help they need to continue doing business and increase their productivity. We provide nutrition and agronomic advice for their cows to produce more milk or to gain more weight. Currently, we work with several small dairy farms.
Sheep and Goat Farms
In Moldova, Angela visited a coalition of sheep and goat farmers from several countries this past October. We hope this relationship grows so that AgConnect can be involved at a deeper level.
Animal Husbandry In Africa
In Kenya, Africa the situation is still somewhat the same, lack of knowledge and cultural practices and mindsets inhibit farmer’s ability to move ahead. We need to see through spiritual eyes how to work on these mindsets and allow God to bring prosperity to Kenya without giving them monetary handouts. While war is not happening near Kenya, many of the same type of political issues and social issues remain.
Moving Forward
Currently, we work with several small dairy farms. Because dairy farms in Moldova are in a crisis with low profitability, increased business management skills are needed. We would like to initiate an ag extension program where farmers would be able to call someone for on-farm consulting services. This means that we have a need for a person with a farming background to provide one-on-one consulting.
